Que hay que decir de esta extraordinaria artista nacida en Nueva York (E.U.). Hikki (como es conocida por nosotros los fans), gracias a esas circunstancias, adquirio los mejor de ambos mundos tan distintos entre si, sabiendola aprovechar de buena manera, apoyada por sus padres (los cuales tuvieron que ver en el ambito musical en un momento) quienes notaron en Hikaru tales dones artisticos.

Su primera aventura profesionalmente fue a la edad de 12, y en 1996 grabo el album debut "Precious", en un principio no marchaban las cosas, sobretodo por problemas con su entonces disquera en Norteamerica, por lo tanto el disco fue lanzado en Japon en 1998 y re-lanzando un año despues, logrando ventas muy satisfactorias para ser una produccion en ingles. esto motiva a Hikki para mudarse a Japon, pasado el tiempo, firma con Emi-Toshiba grabando su primer single "Automatic/Time Will Tell" conviertendose en un exito gigantesco.

A grandes rasgos, la vida de Utada se basa en las ganas de salir adelante, de no darse por vencida, y darlo todo por amor a la musica, actitudes que trasmite a la gente por medio de su voz... y he aqui el resultado, pasion y entrega expresadas en melodias, salidas desde el interior de Hikki...
