Sinopsis


Fullmetal Alchemist, tambien conocida como Full Metal Alchemist (el nombre romanizado oficial tiene Fullmetal como una sola palabra, del que se deriva Full Metal ya que en ingles es la forma mas correcta de escribirlo), FMA, o Hagaren (abreviatura del japones) es un manga y una serie anime. En el japones original, el titulo es Hagane no Renkinjutsushi (鋼の錬金術師, 'Hagane no Renkinjutsushi'?), que significa "El alquimista de acero", y se suele abreviar coloquialmente como Hagaren (ハガレン, 'Hagaren'?).

El manga fue creado por Hiromu Arakawa y publicado por Square Enix (a finales de 2007 seguia publicandose) en la revista antologica Shōnen Gangan. En España, actualmente lo esta publicando Norma Editorial.

En el año 2003 el anime fue emitido en Japon siendo un gran exito, por lo que menos de un año despues de finalizada la serie, fue emitida la pelicula Conquistador de Shamballa, secuela de la serie que concluye la historia del anime. Segun los resultados de una encuesta online hecha y publicada en 2006 por TV Asahi, la serie seria el anime favorito de los japoneses en ese momento.Tanto el anime como el manga han alcanzado un gran exito dentro y fuera de Japon. En el año 2004, el manga de Fullmetal Alchemist obtuvo el premio Shogakukan Manga Award en la categoria shōnen (joven).

En agosto de 2008, el estudio BONES informo la realizacion de una nueva serie de Fullmetal Alchemist publicandose en la portada del volumen 20 del manga. La noticia se confirmo luego de que se filtraran reportes del estudio a traves de diferentes paginas web.
