Estamos en el año 2005, en Okinawa. Otonashi Saya es una estudiante de instituto que vive tranquilamente como cualquier persona normal, la única diferencia es que perdió completamente la memoria hace un año y no recuerda nada anterior a eso.
Un dÃa se encuentra con Hagi, vestido con un traje negro y tocando el Violonchelo, que le da una katana haciendo que en ese momento la historia tome un nuevo rumbo.
