Sinopsis
Japón ha diseñado un exoesqueleto armamentístico de poder, llamado "Infinite stratos" (IS) y se ha convertido en la corriente principal de las armas. Dado que sólo las mujeres pueden operar un IS, el equilibrio de poder entre hombres y mujeres se ha roto y las mujeres dominan la sociedad sobre los hombres. Diez años después desde que se introdujeron los IS, ha dado lugar a una nueva era de paz, pero el mundo se sorprende a un descubrimiento inesperado. Orimura Ichika es un joven de 15 años que descubre que es capaz de operar un IS. Al darse cuenta de su potencial, Ichika se ve obligado por el gobierno japonés a asistir a la prestigiosa Academia Infinite Stratos, una academia internacional donde los pilotos de los IS están siendo entrenados.
