Death City es el hogar del Shibusen, una escuela que se dedica a formar técnicos en guadaña en el manejo de armas llamadas demonios guadañas. Cada demonio guadaña deberá comer 99 almas humanas que se han convertido en huevos de Shinin (Maldad Total), y 1 alma de bruja con el fin de convertirse en guadaña mortal, el arma que utilizan los shinigami (dioses de la muerte) para eliminar las almas malignas. La historia de Soul Eater se centra en el camino de 3 jóvenes técnicos de guadaña deben recorrer para convertir a sus demonios guadaña, en guadañas mortales.
El trabajo no será en absoluto fácil, especialmente por las peculiares personalidades de los personajes protagonistas que son unos completos chiflados xD.
