Las historias de fantasmas son el pasatiempo favorito de Mai Taniyama y sus amigas, hasta cuando se encuentra a Kazuya Shibuya, quien es un caza fantasmas enviado a investigar ciertos eventos extraños que ocurren en la escuela de Mai, en una ocasión Mai se ve envuelta en una situacíón algo peligros y es rescatada por el ayudante de Kazuya, quien sufre un accidente al salvarla quedando incapacitado, de eso Kazuya exige que Mai sea su asistente, para pagar por los problemas que causo y asi comienza esta historia.
