La historia principal de la pelicula trata sobre la familia Mishima y sus luchas por el control de su empresa, el imperio financiero Mishima Zaibatzu. Heihachi es el presidente y su hijo Kazuya quiere arrebatarle el poder. La empresa organiza el torneo de artes marciales The King Of The Iron Fist Tournament, que cuenta con un importante premio para el que logre vencer a Heihachi Mishima, la Mancuerna Dorada. Al torneo acuden los mejores luchadores del mundo, entre ellos Kazuya Mishima.
